Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how NexSSH handles data for the macOS application distributed by NexSSH Team.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the NexSSH desktop app and related support channels. It does not apply to third-party services you connect to through NexSSH (for example, your servers, 1Password, Bitwarden, OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama, or any SSH host).
2. What Data NexSSH Processes
NexSSH is designed for local-first operation.
- Connection metadata (name, host, port, username, tags, notes): stored locally in SQLite on your Mac.
- Credentials and key passphrases: stored in macOS Keychain using system APIs.
- Known host fingerprints: stored locally to support SSH host verification.
- Transfer and session metadata: stored locally for app functionality.
By default, NexSSH does not send your personal data or server credentials to NexSSH Team-operated servers.
3. Data We Do Not Sell
NexSSH does not sell personal data.
4. Telemetry and Analytics
NexSSH ships with telemetry disabled by default. If analytics is introduced in future versions, it will be opt-in and reflected in this policy and in App Store Privacy details before release.
5. Third-Party Integrations
If you explicitly enable integrations (for example AI providers or password manager integrations), relevant data may be transmitted directly to those providers per your configuration and their privacy terms.
6. Data Retention
Data is retained on-device until you delete it.
- You can remove individual connections, keys, and known hosts in-app.
- You can fully remove local app data by deleting:
~/Library/Application Support/NexSSH and related Keychain entries created by NexSSH.
7. Security
NexSSH uses macOS Keychain for sensitive secrets and applies host fingerprint checks for SSH trust establishment.
8. Children
NexSSH is not directed to children under 13.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights regarding access, deletion, and correction of personal data. Because NexSSH is local-first, most data controls are available directly in-app and on your device.
10. Contact
Privacy contact: ssh@ifons.net
11. Changes
We may update this policy when product behavior or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in the in-app legal section and release notes.
